Established in 1922 by developer E. Gordon Perry, Perry Heights is a small, historic enclave within Oak Lawn where Dallas’s early residential character remains beautifully visible. Its tree-lined streets bring together Tudor cottages, brick bungalows, and stately Colonial Revival and Georgian homes, many dating to the neighborhood’s first decade. Along Rawlins Street, the concentration of ministers who lived here during the 1930s and 1940s earned it the nickname “Bishops Row.” Anchored by Craddock Park and shaped by generations of neighborhood stewardship, Perry Heights preserves a distinctive pocket of old Dallas amid the energy of the surrounding city.
