Porsche Design’s Dallas Dream Garage

Targeted for 2028 near Love Field, Porsche Design Concours pairs privately owned car studios with a members’ clubhouse and gives the garage an architectural turn.

For some people, the best room in the house is the one with a garage door. A planned Dallas development is giving that preference a rather handsome address.

Porsche Design Concours will bring privately owned automotive studios and a members’ clubhouse to the Love Field area. Dallas and West Palm Beach are the first two destinations announced by Porsche Design and Newgard Development Group, with both currently targeted to open in 2028.

The planned Dallas site is at 1450 Empire Central Drive. The location puts the proposed project near Love Field, with an entirely different use for a place to park.

A collection gets its own room

The Dallas plan calls for 22 individually deeded studios, with sizes ranging from approximately 2,700 to 6,000 square feet. Sales are by invitation. Each studio is planned with climate control, a mezzanine, a full bathroom, and wet bar facilities, allowing the space to accommodate the owner’s time as thoughtfully as the owner’s cars.

Newgard describes the studios as places to display a collection, work, relax, and entertain. The appeal is easy to understand: when you have spent years finding the right cars, you may want somewhere comfortable to sit and admire them.

The driveway becomes architecture

Gensler is the local architecture firm for the Dallas destination, working in collaboration with Porsche Design. Many of the studios will connect to an interior automotive promenade called The Concours. That shared passage gives movement through the building a place in the design, with the cars becoming part of the visual experience.

The Dallas renderings show a long, sculptural facade with a dramatic angled support and broad areas of glazing. The contrast between the building’s solid surfaces and its open entrance makes a strong first impression before a single engine starts.

There is a clubhouse, too

Plans extend to a private clubhouse with dining, lounges, coworking, wellness facilities, padel, terraces, and event space. Porsche ownership is not required; the concept welcomes collections across manufacturers and eras.

The finer points are still taking shape. Newgard’s Harvey Hernandez told PaperCity that hospitality partners were being evaluated, with the restaurant concept and operator to be announced separately. Studio pricing and membership details have not been released in the reporting cited here.

For now, this is a development to watch as plans move toward the targeted 2028 opening. The intriguing part is how much attention is being given to the hours between drives: a place to linger with the collection, and with the people who understand why it matters.
