Some animals arrive in foster care needing patience, reassurance and a safe place to land. In this wonderfully sweet video, three rescue dogs discover that they have exactly that kind of comfort to give.

The tiniest foster mom
Kona may be small, but she has helped her human foster an extraordinary 153 animals. She carries kittens, grooms them and teaches them that the world can be gentle. Watching nervous little faces relax around her is the sort of quiet magic pet people understand immediately.
Chalupa brings a different gift. Naturally calm around frightened or injured animals, she helps vulnerable newcomers feel secure. She has also helped adult rescue dogs learn to trust people again, all while offering a lovely answer to the unfair stereotypes often attached to pit bull type dogs.
From survivor to caretaker
Nala’s story may be the most moving of all. Abandoned and seriously ill with parvovirus, she survived and eventually became a devoted foster mother and nurse. Her extended family has included about 40 rescued joeys, four kittens and more than 15 puppies.
There is something especially beautiful about rescued animals becoming rescuers themselves. They do not need introductions, instructions or matching résumés. They simply recognize a creature who needs warmth and make room beside them.
At just under eight minutes, this is an easy little mood lift for a coffee break, a rainy afternoon or any moment when the internet could stand to be a kinder place. Turn up the sound, settle in and enjoy three very good dogs doing what they do best.
