At 24 pounds, Jamie is a compact little original with alert ears, black-and-white markings and the sort of spark that makes you want to know what he is thinking.
Meet Jamie, The Dallas Registry’s SPCA Dog of the Week. He is three years and three months old, and if his video is any indication, there is a playful little firecracker waiting just beneath that cautious first impression.
A Gentle Boy With a Playful Side
Jamie can be shy when he first meets someone. That is not a flaw. It simply means he likes to take a moment, read the room and decide when he feels safe. Once he is ready, he comes to you on his own, making every tail wag and every bit of trust feel earned.
His Best Friend May Have Four Legs
Jamie absolutely loves other dogs and plays beautifully with canine companions. The SPCA of Texas believes an older, confident dog could be especially helpful in his new home, giving him reassurance and showing him how good everyday life can be.
He is making progress with leash training and learning his household manners. He is not fully housebroken yet, but he is successfully using potty pads. Jamie’s ideal person will see those details for what they are: the ordinary, manageable work of helping a good dog settle into a new chapter.
The Right Home for Jamie
Jamie needs patience, consistency and kindness. In return, he offers the possibility of something truly special: watching a shy dog discover that he is safe, loved and finally home. If you already have a friendly, self-assured dog, Jamie may be the little brother your household did not know it was missing.
