Welcome to The Dallas Registry (“the Site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using thedallasregistry.com, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
1. What the Site is
The Dallas Registry is a curated guide to Dallas neighborhoods, businesses, apartments, and real estate — including business listings, apartment information, for-sale-by-owner (“FSBO”) listings, editorial content, and member features such as saved places and community submissions.
2. Member accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, submit a listing, or claim a business.
- We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, abuse other members, or misuse the Site.
3. Listings and claims
- Business & apartment claims: Claiming a listing is limited to owners, managers, or authorized representatives of that business or property. Claims are reviewed before approval, and we may request verification. Misrepresenting your affiliation is grounds for immediate removal.
- FSBO listings: You may only list a property you own or are legally authorized to sell. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your listing, and for complying with all applicable real estate laws and disclosure requirements.
- Accuracy: Directory information (including hours, pricing, availability, and “starting at” figures) is provided as a convenience and may be incomplete or out of date. Always confirm details directly with the business or property.
4. Member content
- Content you submit (listings, articles, photos, descriptions) must be yours to share, accurate, and lawful. Don’t post content that is false, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or spam.
- By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, format, and promote it on the Site and in Site-related communications.
- We may edit, decline, or remove any submitted content at our discretion, including for editorial fit.
5. Communications
- By creating an account you consent to receive service emails about your account and activity (e.g., claim approvals, inquiry notifications).
- Optional marketing communications — such as specials from businesses you’ve saved — are strictly opt-in, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe. See our SMS Terms of Use for text-message terms.
6. Inquiries and leads
When you submit an inquiry to a business, apartment, or FSBO seller through the Site, your provided contact information is shared with that business or seller so they can respond. We are not a party to — and are not responsible for — any transaction, lease, or agreement between you and any business, property, or seller found through the Site.
7. No professional advice; no brokerage
Content on the Site is for general information only and is not legal, financial, or real estate advice. The Site is a directory and advertising platform; unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate written agreement, we do not act as your real estate broker or agent through your use of the Site.
8. Prohibited uses
You agree not to: scrape or bulk-harvest Site data; submit false listings, reviews, or claims; use bots or automated tools to create accounts or submit forms; interfere with the Site’s operation; or use member contact information for unsolicited marketing.
9. Intellectual property
The Site’s design, branding, editorial content, and compilation of listings are owned by The Dallas Registry and protected by law. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Dallas Registry is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, or from dealings with any business, property, or member found through it.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas.
