Some puppies win you over with boundless confidence. Newton does it with one shaggy look.
This five-month-old mixed-breed puppy is currently in foster care through the SPCA of Texas, waiting for someone who will give him the secure, loving home every young dog deserves. At 36 pounds, Newton is still growing into his long legs, oversized paws and wonderfully tousled coat.
A Gentle Pup With a Playful Side
Newton may be a little shy when he first meets someone, but he does not stay reserved for long. Give him a moment and his tail begins wagging. He enjoys meeting people, making four-legged friends and settling in for quiet cuddle time after the playing is done.
That combination makes him an especially appealing companion. He has the curiosity and happy energy of a puppy, along with a softer side that simply wants to feel safe and close to his people.

A Foster-to-Adopt Opportunity
Newton is waiting for his neuter surgery before his adoption can be finalized, but he is available through the SPCA of Texas foster-to-adopt program. That gives Newton and his future family an opportunity to get acquainted while the SPCA completes his remaining veterinary care.
If you can picture those fuzzy paws racing through your home, followed by a very contented puppy curled beside you, Newton may be waiting for you.
