Cares
A year round connection between people who need a little help and people who have a little help to give.
Dallas taking care of Dallas through specific, useful acts of generosity that protect dignity and make a difficult chapter feel a little lighter.
There are moments in life when something very small can mean almost everything.

Ordinary things can carry extraordinary weight.
To someone who has enough, these are ordinary things. When you do not have them, they can feel enormous.
The Dallas Registry Cares brings together neighbors, businesses, organizations and resources throughout Dallas to help provide those ordinary but profoundly important things to people in our own communities who are going through a difficult chapter.
Hardship is rarely as simple as it looks from the outside. A toy given to a child may also lift an enormous weight from a parent who has spent weeks wondering how they will provide something special during the holidays. A bag of groceries may give a family enough breathing room to pay another bill. A new coat may mean someone gets to work warm and dry. Diapers, clean underwear or basic hygiene products may restore a little dignity when dignity feels increasingly difficult to hold onto.
None of these things fixes everything. That is not the point.

Success is measured in what changes after the box is opened.
We listen first.
Our job is not to decide what people should need. We work with trusted local organizations already serving Dallas children, families, young adults, people experiencing homelessness, members of the LGBTQ+ community and others facing difficult circumstances.
Hear the need
We ask local organizations what would genuinely make a difference for the people they serve.
Make it specific
We translate real needs into clear requests that businesses and neighbors can confidently meet.
Connect Dallas
We help useful goods and resources reach trusted hands, with dignity and without judgment.
There is a place for what you can give.
This is not about filling donation boxes so we can say we filled them. It is about matching something useful with someone who genuinely needs it.
For local organizations
Tell us what would meaningfully help the people you already know and serve.
For Dallas businesses
A grocery store may provide food. A pharmacy may offer toiletries. A retailer may contribute coats, blankets or children’s necessities. A company may sponsor an entire need.
For individual neighbors
One package of socks matters. One coat matters. One thoughtful act can solve one real problem for one real person.
People facing a difficult chapter are not abstractions or statistics. They are our neighbors.
We begin during the 2026 holiday season, but we will not end there.
Because need does not have a season, and neither should caring for our neighbors.
